Deities in Delver are not a religious construct, they are beings who have mastered a concept so thoroughly that they embody it. The path to truly understand any concept is tedious and long, few realms have deities and even fewer have any of impressive power. There are four tiers of divine power divided as such:
Fragments: The lowest level deity. These are beings that have achieved mastery over a sliver of knowledge, one aspect of how the world functions. Their knowledge is narrow but deep. Even as the weakest deity they are far more powerful than the strongest warriors. The vast majority of gods are these.
Splinters: A middle tier deity. These beings have furthered the scope of their knowledge, they know a broader swath of things centered around what they knew as a Fragment. These beings can shape planes and create and destroy what they wish. They are vastly more powerful than Fragments but far rarer as well.
Shards: A top tier deity. These beings have a deep understanding of many things and a total mastery of many things related to their original mastery as a Fragment. They can create planes as well as shape them. They are few and far between with no more than a handful throughout the planes. They cannot manifest in their entirety on a plane relying on avatars to do anything they intend.
Remnants: The most powerful deity. These beings have a total understanding of the laws that govern, they each manage a basic rule of reality such as life or existence. There are almost none in existence and very little is known about them. It is assumed they can manifest themselves as the shards do but is unknown.
